Children of the 90's Rejoice: Mario Lopez and Wilson Phillips Come Together At LAPD's Annual Gala
Every year the Eagle and Badge Foundation’s Annual Gala attracts the attention of businessmen, politicals and celebrities alike. Last night’s event held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza was not exception.
The goal of the Eagle and Badge Foundation is pretty simple: Support LAPD Police Officers, their families and Children in the communities they serve. This gala is their largest fundraiser every year and a keystone in the organization. In attention to your typical philanthropic set, hundreds of officers received free or discounted tickets to attend so people can interact with these Everyday Heroes on a more personal level.
A beautiful addition to the stage this year was the stunning End of Watch Memorial Wall, standing as an everlasting tribute to the 207 officers who have sacrificed their lives for citizens of Los Angeles. Each officers’ names and End of Watch dates are reverently featured on a 58-foot long, 15,000-pound traveling wall of stainless steel and glass.
All funds raised will benefit LAPD officers, their children and families in time of critical need, whether with special equipment or medical items, a service dog for a small child of an officer, or other emergency situations.
Adding to the glamour of the night was Host Mario Lopez, of TV’s “Extra” and nationally syndicated radio show “On With Mario Lopez”, with Grammy nominated and multi-Platinum recording artists Wilson Phillip, providing musical performances. These children of the 90’s were in heaven.
